In today's address, I was impressed by our governor, as he reimagined a world where people come first. Where those who are out working on the front lines - 41% of whom are people of color, and 2/3 of whom are women - are not only recognized, but who should receive hazardous pay. As he explained, the state and local governments have a large deficit, and would require federal funding to fully fund pay for teachers, police officers, firefighters and transit workers as well as hospital funding.
Can you imagine what the New World might look like? Cuomo imagines it being more loving, with better health care and more social equity. Kudos, Governor Cuomo!
